Barry + Alex

When Alex asked me if I wanted to shoot her wedding in Ireland I don’t think she’d even finished the question before I said yes. I’ve shot quite a few weddings in Europe so it wasn’t that that drew me in entirely. Alex is a fellow wedding vendor, owner of Amendment 21 Bartending, so we’ve worked together for years and are also good friends. I knew she was going to have every detail perfected and that her and I could brainstorm on the best engagements while we were there as well. We spent ten days over there, mostly drinking at pubs lets be honest, but one day on the Cliffs of Moher doing an absolutely freezing engagement session and two days in a beautiful castle in Tralee for the wedding. They had Irish Wolfhounds free roaming the grounds, real candles lit throughout the castle, a huge bridal suite complete with floor to ceiling windows and a claw foot tub, and of course all the charm a 300 year old castle can add to anyone’s big day. We got lucky and had 70 degree mostly sunny weather, which is rare for Ireland in any season, and that set the tone for the rest of the day being relaxed. It was a beautiful day with people from all over the world gathered to watch two friends tie the knot in this fairytale come true.
