Kimber and Matt had planned their wedding, but Covid hit. They rescheduled, and rescheduled again. They finally decided to just go ahead with a limited number of guests and have a bigger one later on. Hence why this is round one, you can see round two here. Kimber, her mom, sister and grandmother got ready at the Marriott at Griffin Gate. Her grandma was so excited to get all glammed up with the girls. I love the photo of her. I had to sneak to get it, she didn’t think I should take pictures of anyone but the bride, and I just adore that sentiment she had for Kimber. I was so glad I took it anyways, among many others of her that day because by the second wedding, she had passed away just a week before. I love looking back through these because I know she was so proud of Kimber, and was so happy to be able to be there especially after all the pandemic lockdowns. It really warms my heart that she got to see it and that I was able to capture these last memories of them together on such a happy day.

The ceremony was at Christ the King Cathedral in Lexington. With only about 25 people in attendance, all socially distanced, it was the most intimate ceremony even in the large church. Kimber’s Mom surprised the couple with the Bentley from Gold Shield, I love their faces when they walked out to it waiting to whisk them to the reception.

Since it was only 25 guests, Great Expectations had the dinner set up on the front porch. It was like having their very own curated restaurant and I would highly recommend it for any rehearsal dinner! Afterwards they moved to the back room for a few speeches and an impromptu first dance. The rest of the party was saved for Round 2!
